You can create a scatter plot chart and use images to fill each data points dot. Simply upload the images into the data tab and set the column binding accordingly. Please note that this only works on SVG mode and not in the WebGL mode.
- 1
- First, go to the data tab and ensure you have a column to use as the image column. If you don't, you can right click (Windows) or double click (Mac) to bring up the menu and insert a new column.
- 2
- In each row cell you can right click/double click and select Upload file to upload the image you wish to use for that point.
-
TIP: While it is possible to use external SVG URLs we recommend uploading the SVG directly to Flourish to ensure everything runs smoothly.
- 3
- When you have uploaded all images to the correct cells you need to tell Flourish which column to use as the image binding.
- 4
- In the preview tab you can select a number of settings in the Dot styles tab.
- It is possible to change the dot size as normal and customize the dot outline width. If you selected a categorical or numerical column to colour by this color will be the dot outline.
- The image settings will determine how the image fills the space of the dot.
- You can also change the shape of the dots. This can be set in the data if you wish to have different data points as different shapes or you can change all the data points default shapes.
