Adding a chart to your timeline can give a overview of how categories developed over time. Users can also explore interesting data points by clicking on them in the timeline and jump to that point in the chart.
To add a chart to your timeline:

Make sure that you have assigned a column under the Category settings in the Data tab. If you don't have a separate column for categories, bind the column you used for Labels.
TIP: Make sure the Color mode setting is set to By Category in the Bar colors settings panel.

Go to the Chart settings within the Timeline & animation settings, select Show, and also choose Timeline in the Style setting.

Through Axis settings, you can change the color of the axes, the label font size and its date format.
